Schiaparelli Fall 2026 Haute Couture inspired by Gaudí’s architecture and organic forms

Architecture provided the starting point for Schiaparelli’s Fall/Winter 2026-27 Haute Couture collection, but the final result moved far beyond a direct visual tribute to Antoni Gaudí.

Titled The Call of the Void, the collection was created under the direction of Daniel Roseberry, who travelled to Barcelona to experience Gaudí’s work as part of his early creative process. Roseberry later acknowledged that attempting to repeat the formula behind his previous collection initially restricted the development of new ideas, prompting him to abandon a controlled approach and embrace uncertainty instead.

The Call of the Void draws from Gaudí’s organic forms, sculptural construction, and material experimentation.

The influence of Gaudí remained visible through the collection’s organic volumes, sculptural silhouettes and focus on nature, material experimentation and craftsmanship. Rather than reproducing individual buildings, the designs reflected a broader architectural sensibility in which surfaces, structure and ornament became closely interconnected.

Across 30 looks, Schiaparelli explored unconventional couture materials including latex, silicone and sheets of baked paint shaped into wearable forms. Traditional fabrics were paired with experimental constructions, including a silicone-cast bustier, flowers created from hosiery stretched over metal wires, sculpted crinoline tubes and kinetic latex elements.

Gaudí’s organic forms set the creative direction for Schiaparelli’s Fall 2026 Couture

Nature also shaped the collection’s palette and decorative language. Lobster pink, violet, tangerine, saffron and pale mint appeared alongside black, raw wax ecru and Schiaparelli gold, while shells, tentacles, flowers and sea-anemone-like forms extended across garments, jewellery and accessories.

The architectural connection was therefore less about recreating Casa Batlló, Casa Milà or the Sagrada Família than adopting principles associated with Gaudí’s work, including natural geometry, expressive surfaces and the integration of ornament with structure. The result positioned the body as a sculptural framework rather than a conventional base for clothing.

At its core, The Call of the Void was a study in creative surrender. Gaudí’s architecture opened the process, but Roseberry’s final collection evolved into a wider exploration of experimentation, craftsmanship and the unpredictable nature of artistic creation.
