After beginning his career in India, Kumar relocated to Saudi Arabia in the late 1990s, where he took on leadership of Voltas' regional operations. The move marked the beginning of a long association with the Middle East, overseeing engineering businesses and project delivery across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain. His experience spans the full spectrum of MEP contracting, including heating, ventilation and air conditioning, electrical systems, plumbing, firefighting, district cooling, water treatment and renewable energy solutions.
As head of the International Operations Business Group, Kumar is responsible for one of Voltas' largest overseas businesses, managing multidisciplinary teams delivering projects across commercial, hospitality, healthcare, aviation, industrial and infrastructure sectors. His portfolio includes major developments throughout the GCC, reflecting the growing complexity of engineering requirements across the region's construction industry.
Beyond project delivery, Kumar has played an important role in expanding the group's engineering capabilities through investment in prefabrication, modular construction and advanced manufacturing. He has supported the integration of digital technologies into engineering and construction processes while strengthening Voltas' presence in emerging areas such as sustainable building systems and energy solutions.
His long tenure with Voltas has provided continuity through the company's international expansion, combining operational oversight with a detailed understanding of project execution. That experience, built across decades of engineering leadership in some of the Middle East's most active construction markets, continues to underpin the delivery of complex electromechanical projects throughout the region.
