Portugal – August 2025 - Two years after opening the doors of Vermelho Melides, his celebrated 13-room boutique hotel in Portugal, legendary French designer Christian Louboutin is taking his bold aesthetic further into the world of hospitality. Nestled in the untamed countryside of Alentejo, Louboutin has unveiled two exquisite new private villas: La Salvada and La Maison des Bateaux.
Located just ten minutes from Vermelho Melides, the villas extend the brand’s signature style, a harmonious marriage of global flair, local craftsmanship, and Louboutin’s unmistakable maximalism.
Designed in collaboration with architect Tarek Shamma, La Salvada is a two-bedroom hideaway that reinterprets Alentejo’s traditional forms through a Moroccan-inspired lens. Bathed in dusty rose tones, the villa features double-height ceilings, bedrooms set apart from the main structure for ultimate privacy, and three rooftop terraces offering panoramic views of the surrounding wildflower-strewn fields.
Inside, Louboutin’s influence is immediately felt, from the curated art pieces to the bespoke furnishings drawn from his personal collection. The result is a warm, exotic retreat that feels both intimate and cinematic.
Just a short drive away, La Maison des Bateaux reinvents an old Alentejan boathouse into a luxe escape for up to six guests. Painted in traditional white with cobalt blue accents, the villa evokes a coastal serenity despite its rural setting, surrounded by rice fields.
Its most eye-catching feature is the trio of bathrooms, each incorporating restored windows salvaged from old ships—a clever nod to maritime heritage reimagined for modern design. The villa comprises two nautically-themed bedrooms and a convertible TV room, offering flexible sleeping arrangements.
Both La Salvada and La Maison des Bateaux are equipped with full kitchens, and guests have the option to book private chefs through the team at Vermelho Melides. Whether hosting an intimate dinner or unwinding in solitude, the villas deliver an immersive hospitality experience rooted in Louboutin’s cosmopolitan creativity and Portuguese soul.
These new additions reinforce a growing trend of luxury fashion brands branching into hospitality, offering highly curated, deeply personal experiences in distinctive settings.
