Doha, Qatar - Alfardan Properties is pursuing an expansion plan in Qatar backed by investments of approximately $275 million (QAR 1 billion), among them Alfardan Business District in Lusail City, which it expects to complete in the fourth quarter of 2027.
The developer set out the figures as it restated its commitment to investing in the country, a stance it said rests on continued confidence in the national economy and its long-term growth prospects.
The company said its developments and steady investment add to the growth of Qatar’s real estate sector in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
Mohamed Sleiman, who runs both Alfardan Properties and Alfardan Hospitality, made the case on 27 October at the Qatar Real Estate Forum, now in its fourth edition and run in partnership with Cityscape, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC).
He sat on a panel titled “Private Capital, National Vision: How Qatar’s Developers and Investors Are Diversifying the Economy”. There he spoke about the role private companies play in widening the economy beyond its traditional base, and about the need for continued spending on residential, commercial and hospitality projects to strengthen Qatar’s standing as a place to invest, do business and live for the long term.
Mohamed Sleiman, Chief Executive Officer of Alfardan Properties and Alfardan Hospitality, said: “Under its wise leadership, Qatar has consistently demonstrated the strength and resilience of its economy in navigating challenges.”
“We continued investing throughout the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and amid recent regional developments, guided by our belief that challenges create new opportunities for growth and our unwavering confidence in the country’s future and economic potential,” he added.
In Lusail, the business district takes in Burj Alfardan Tower B, now under development next to the existing Burj Alfardan Tower A. According to the company, the new tower answers rising demand for premium office and commercial space, supports the changing needs of businesses in Qatar and is meant to draw more corporate investment.
