(Image source: IREIS)Abu Dhabi, UAE - Abu Dhabi’s real estate market recorded $47.8 billion (AED175.7 billion) in transactions during the first nine months of 2026, as the capital prepares to host the International Real Estate and Investment Show (IREIS) next month.
Residential sales accounted for $26.1 billion (AED95.8 billion) across 21,416 registered home transactions between January and September, according to figures attributed to the Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre (ADREC).
The figures extend a strong year for the emirate’s property sector. During the first half of 2026 alone, ADREC recorded $31.9 billion (AED117 billion) in total real estate transactions, representing a 112% increase from the same period a year earlier.
Sales transactions reached $23.4 billion (AED86.1 billion) during that six-month period, while mortgage activity totalled $7.3 billion (AED26.7 billion).
Foreign investment has also increased. ADREC reported $3.8 billion (AED13.8 billion) in foreign direct investment during the first half, exceeding the amount recorded during the whole of 2025. Investors from 116 nationalities participated in the market during the period.
The emirate is also preparing for further residential supply. ADREC’s first-half market report identified approximately 409,000 existing residential units, with a further 71,000 units projected to enter the market by 2030.
Against that backdrop, IREIS 2026 will take place from 10 to 12 November at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, bringing property developers, investors, brokers and homebuyers together for its 15th edition.
The three-day event will be held in Hall 6 and is focused on connecting consumers and investors directly with property developers and agents from the UAE and international markets.
IREIS is designed primarily as an investment and property-sales platform rather than a conventional business-to-business exhibition, with residential and other real estate opportunities from the Middle East and overseas markets expected to be presented.
The exhibition comes as Abu Dhabi continues to expand its property sector through new residential supply, investment zones and large-scale development activity across the emirate.
