Abu Dhabi Disburses $1.26B Housing Aid

In a major initiative ahead of Eid Al Adha, Abu Dhabi has approved a housing benefits package worth approximately $1.26 billion, supporting more than 3,000 Emirati citizens. The move is part of the emirate’s broader strategy to improve quality of life, strengthen family stability, and support national development through sustainable housing solutions.

Key Figures and Support Breakdown

The newly approved package includes:

  • Housing Loans: Over $1.2 billion allocated to provide loans to 2,862 citizens, helping them secure homes and improve living conditions.
  • Loan Repayment Exemptions: Around $58 million set aside to relieve 190 citizens including retirees and families of deceased beneficiaries from repaying existing housing loans.
  • This marks the second major housing package of 2025, bringing the year-to-date total in housing support to $3.1 billion.

Commitment to the Year of Community

The initiative aligns with the UAE’s Year of Community and reflects a long-term vision of fostering social cohesion. The leadership aims to ensure citizens feel supported not only financially but also emotionally, particularly during culturally significant times like Eid.

Government officials reiterated that such support empowers citizens to contribute to the country's development while enjoying greater family stability and quality of life.

Additional Financial Relief Measures

Beyond the housing package, an additional subsidy of $68,100 per household has been approved for current loan beneficiaries. This includes benefits such as:

  • Up to 50% reduction in monthly loan payments
  • Enhanced services and facilities for eligible families

These efforts ensure a comprehensive support system for homeowners, making housing more accessible and sustainable for the long term.
