Since joining BEC Arabia, Gamal has focused on the operational side of running a contractor: restructuring the company's management structure, improving communication and workflow between departments, and working to bring down costs without compromising the quality of delivery.
BEC Arabia's current project list includes large residential developments built to house workers supporting giga-projects along the Red Sea coast, leisure and hospitality developments tied to tourism-focused destinations, and commercial developments aimed at bringing more modern, mixed-use design into Saudi cities. Among the company's named projects are a residential community linked to the AMAALA and Triple Bay developments, a beach and golf club within NEOM, an adventure and hospitality park in Al Baha, and commercial developments including STC Square and Al Bustan Business Park. The spread across residential, hospitality, and commercial work has required the company to stay flexible across different types of projects rather than specialising narrowly in one segment.
BEC Arabia has also incorporated modular construction techniques and digital tools such as Building Information Modeling into parts of its project delivery, methods that are increasingly common among contractors working on Saudi Arabia's larger, more time-sensitive developments. These approaches are generally aimed at shortening build times and reducing material waste compared to fully traditional on-site construction.
The company's client base spans government-linked giga-project authorities as well as private developers, which has meant working within a range of different regulatory, environmental, and design requirements depending on the project and region. Coastal tourism developments along the Red Sea, for instance, carry different environmental and planning considerations than commercial or residential projects closer to established Saudi cities.
That mix of clients and project types also means BEC Arabia's workforce and subcontractor base has had to scale up considerably in recent years, a pattern common across Saudi contractors trying to keep pace with the number of giga-projects moving from planning into active construction at the same time. Coordinating that scale of work across different regions and project types generally falls to the company's senior management team, with responsibilities split across commercial, technical, and operational functions supporting the projects underway at any given time.
