Cairo, Egypt – September 29, 2025: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Excellency Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, held high-level talks in Cairo on Monday focused on strengthening fraternal ties and expanding bilateral cooperation to support both nations’ development goals.
The meeting took place at Al-Ittihadiya Palace, where the two leaders explored ways to enhance collaboration across multiple sectors, with a particular emphasis on economic, trade, and development partnerships. Their discussions underscored the importance of continued cooperation to drive sustainable growth and prosperity for the peoples of both nations.
In addition to bilateral relations, Sheikh Mohamed and President El-Sisi reviewed a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern, including the latest developments across the Middle East.
Both leaders emphasized the urgent need to strengthen joint Arab action amid unprecedented challenges facing the region. They highlighted that closer cooperation is essential to safeguarding regional security and stability while promoting long-term prosperity and development.
The talks were attended by a senior UAE delegation, including H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President, along with several ministers and high-ranking officials.
The discussions come at a time of rapidly growing economic collaboration between the UAE and Egypt.
According to figures from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), trade exchange between the two countries surged by 77.7%, reaching $4.8 billion in the first half of 2025, compared to $2.7 billion during the same period in 2024.
On the investment side, UAE investments in Egypt rose to $2.2 billion in the first half of fiscal year 2024/2025. Similarly, Egyptian investments in the UAE grew by 21.7%, totaling $750.1 million, demonstrating the increasing strength and diversification of their economic relationship.
This latest visit by Sheikh Mohamed follows his earlier trip to Egypt in late August, during which both leaders discussed the longstanding friendship and historical ties between the UAE and Egypt. They explored additional avenues to deepen cooperation for the benefit of their citizens and to address shared developmental aspirations.
Earlier this year, President El-Sisi also visited the UAE, continuing a series of high-level exchanges between the two nations. These meetings reflect a mutual commitment to fostering strategic partnerships across key sectors, including infrastructure, trade, tourism, and energy.
During these visits, both leaders also shared perspectives on regional security, the evolving geopolitical landscape, and the need for unified efforts to tackle regional challenges.
At the conclusion of his fraternal visit, Sheikh Mohamed departed Cairo, with President El-Sisi bidding him farewell at Cairo International Airport, marking another milestone in the ongoing efforts to strengthen UAE-Egypt relations and promote regional stability.
