H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, attended the official launch of Khalid bin Sultan City, a flagship urban development project overseen by BEEAH Group, at the company’s headquarters.
The kickoff featured a screening of “We’re shaping the next era,” tracing BEEAH’s journey from a modest waste management firm to a diversified global enterprise operating across sustainability, energy, technology, healthcare, and real estate.
Khaled Al Huraimel, CEO and Vice Chairman of BEEAH Group, described the development as a pivotal milestone: "Khalid bin Sultan City represents a pivotal milestone for BEEAH in the field of real estate development. It is a pioneering project that embodies our vision to reshape urban life. This development is an extension of BEEAH’s journey to build an integrated system of sustainable solutions across environment, energy, technology, and healthcare sectors.
Thanks to our diverse expertise in developing advanced infrastructure, from recycling facilities and sustainable communities to clean energy systems and smart technologies, we are now able to embark on visionary urban projects that reflect the future of sustainable living. Khalid bin Sultan City is aligned with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, whose leadership continues to lay the foundation for sustainability and forward-thinking urban planning in our emirate."
He emphasized that BEEAH’s extensive infrastructure experience, from recycling facilities and clean energy systems to smart city technology, has enabled this expansion, in line with directives from Sharjah's leadership to focus on sustainability and thoughtful urban planning.
Acclaimed for its focus on smart city design, the project draws inspiration from the late Sheikh Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, a visionary in Sharjah’s urban identity. A dedicated film illustrated how the masterplan integrates sustainability with human-centric design.
Nada Taryam, CEO of Real Estate Development at BEEAH, outlined the project’s ambition:
"Through Khalid bin Sultan City, we seek to reimagine urban living and turn our vision of smart, sustainable cities into reality, cities that place people at the heart of every planning decision.
This vision is being brought to life through a deep integration of intelligent infrastructure with architecture that respects identity and fosters community. We are transforming public spaces into platforms for creativity, culture, and human interaction, celebrating connection and purpose in every element.
For the master plan, we commissioned Zaha Hadid Architects, who translated our bold vision into a design that balances beauty and innovation. The result is an immersive environment that inspires, elevates quality of life, and embodies the harmony between form and function."
Master-planned by Zaha Hadid Architects, the city is designed to feature smart infrastructure and architectural excellence that intertwines identity, innovation, and experiential public realms.
Covering a 1.5-kilometer precinct, the city will include:
The city’s four foundational pillars, sustainability, technology, culture, and human connection—will manifest through AI-driven digital services, renewable energy networks, sustainable transportation, and a zero-waste mandate inspired by H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of BEEAH.
BEEAH’s masterplan divides the city into seven residential neighborhoods, each featuring:
These elements are crafted to foster a walkable, community-centric urban environment that emphasizes wellness and connection.
H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi toured the project models and was honored with a commemorative shield. Among the dignitaries present were:
