New York, USA – September 30, 2025: Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, joined the UAE delegation led by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. The annual meeting brought together world leaders to discuss urgent global issues and foster collaboration toward building a more sustainable future.

Strengthening Trade and Investment Ties

As part of his participation, Al Zeyoudi held a series of bilateral meetings with government officials, focusing on ways to strengthen trade and investment partnerships across key economic sectors.

“The UAE’s presence at the UN General Assembly meeting emphasises our national commitment to playing a pivotal role in fostering global economic growth and prosperity,” said Al Zeyoudi. “By forging strong partnerships and leveraging our collective strengths, we can drive growth and prosperity not just for our nation, but for the world. Our discussions here in New York centered around increasing trade and investment flows around the world, deepening our economic partnerships with like-minded nations in order to achieve our shared goals in economic development and sustainability.”

Engagement with Global Business Leaders

Alongside his engagements at the UAE-US Business Council and the US Chamber of Commerce, Al Zeyoudi met with senior executives from leading global institutions spanning financial services, private equity, advanced technology, and real estate.

Among the organisations represented were Mashreq Bank, UBS, and KKR, as well as influential voices from the Goldman Sachs Global Institute, Blackrock Infrastructure Investments, and the Eurasia Group. These discussions highlighted the importance of high-level collaboration in strengthening economic ties, driving sustainable development, and supporting innovation.

Public-Private Partnerships as a Growth Driver

Al Zeyoudi’s meetings underscored the UAE’s view that public-private partnerships are critical to advancing economic growth and prosperity. By engaging directly with both government officials and private sector leaders, the UAE continues to reinforce its role as a proactive and collaborative player on the global stage.

His participation also reaffirmed the country’s commitment to building innovation-driven and sustainable economies, while positioning the UAE as a trusted partner in global trade and investment.

Broader UNGA Context

The UN General Assembly remains a vital platform for international dialogue, enabling countries to address pressing global challenges together. This year’s discussions placed particular emphasis on AI governance, climate change, and global healthcare, underscoring the importance of cooperative solutions to today’s most complex issues.

By actively participating in these conversations, the UAE reaffirmed its commitment to shaping a future defined by collaboration, resilience, and sustainable economic development.
