The Eastern Province takes a leap in large-scale, sustainable living with the unveiling of Lazurde, an ambitious housing destination in Al‑Khobar backed by the National Housing Company (NHC) and attended by key officials including Minister Majed Al‑Hogail and Eastern Province Governor Prince Saud bin Naif.
Scale & scope: Sprawling across approximately 3.9 million m², Lazurde comprises over 8,100 housing units, including both villas and apartments, developed in partnership with private-sector builders.
Green & integrated planning: The plan includes more than 778,000 m² of green spaces, alongside educational, healthcare, and recreational facilities, all part of a sophisticated, sustainable urban blueprint.
At the launch event, Prince Saud highlighted the momentum behind Saudi housing development:
“The rapid development within the Kingdom’s housing sector reflects the ambitious goals set by the state under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman, and continues with the unwavering support of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. This momentum highlights the Kingdom’s dedication to ensuring adequate housing for all segments of society and to achieving sustainable urban development.” he said.
He emphasized Saudi Arabia’s commitment to “providing adequate housing for all segments of society and achieving sustainable urban development,” and praised the leadership’s role in enhancing quality of life across regions.
Governor Saud bin Naif also witnessed multiple partnership agreements between NHC and firms including Retal Urban, Dar wa Emaar, Thabat Al Maskan, Alomar Investment, Tamkean, Rawas, and Al Yamama Infrastructure, all aimed at developing key residential clusters within Lazurde.
Lazurde benefits from a strategic location near the Arabian Gulf coastline, enabling residents to access essential amenities within a five-minute walk. Architectural plans reflect a seamless blend of local culture with modern design, catering specifically to the lifestyles and needs of Saudi families.
Lazurde represents a hallmark in Saudi Arabia’s urban development journey. A fully integrated, eco-conscious housing community designed to meet Vision 2030 objectives, boost housing access, and elevate living standards in Al‑Khobar and the broader Eastern Province.
