Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - Red Sea Global (RSG) has opened Grand Hyatt The Red Sea, describing the premium Shura Island property as the biggest purpose-built events venue so far at its The Red Sea destination.

The resort has 430 rooms, suites and villas in total, along with a wide choice of restaurants, amenities aimed at families and more than 2,400 sq m of space set aside for functions, the regenerative tourism developer said on 31 October.

That event space is made up of a grand ballroom measuring 1,390 sq m and a junior ballroom of 683 sq m, plus conference rooms and outdoor venues. RSG said the mix suits gatherings ranging from exhibitions and conferences to celebrations and weddings.

John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global, said: “Beyond introducing a globally recognized premium brand to the destination, the Grand Hyatt The Red Sea strengthens our capacity to host international conferences, corporate gatherings, and major events. As we continue to welcome visitors from around the world, we are developing the infrastructure to accommodate both leisure and business travelers, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s position as an emerging global tourism and events destination.”

Alongside the meeting and banqueting spaces, guests can choose between time on the beach, activities for families, wellness, dining and a golf course close by, according to the company. Shura Island is home to Shura Links, which RSG unveiled in October 2025 as Saudi Arabia’s first island golf course.

On site there are swimming pools indoors and outdoors, a fitness centre the developer described as state-of-the-art, and the Ethereal Spa, which has 10 treatment rooms. Camp Hyatt caters to younger guests, and teenagers have areas of their own.

Its restaurants cover contemporary international cuisine and beachfront dining, as well as speciality venues that RSG said are led by globally recognised culinary talent.

The hotel sits close to Shura Marina, a yachting hub that is still expanding and has 159 berths able to take vessels of up to 125m.

Elsewhere on the island, guests have access to shops and restaurants such as La Guérite, a restaurant and beach club which the developer said offers dining inspired by the French Riviera and leisure on the waterfront.

RSG said that by widening the hospitality, leisure and events on offer, the Grand Hyatt will help draw a broader range of visitors, support economic diversification, create jobs and contribute to the Kingdom’s long-term goals for tourism growth.

The company said the opening takes forward its delivery of The Red Sea and sets a new benchmark for regenerative tourism. The destination now has a growing collection of 12 luxury resorts welcoming guests.
