ABU DHABI, UAE - October 6, 2025: His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has reviewed the progress of the Zayed National Museum as it nears completion in Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Cultural District, with its official opening set for December 2025.
During the visit, His Highness was briefed on the museum’s permanent galleries, which chronicle key milestones in the UAE’s national journey. The galleries celebrate the vision and legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, highlighting his enduring values of environmental stewardship, human empowerment, cultural tolerance, and global humanitarianism.
His Highness emphasised that the Zayed National Museum serves as a lasting testament to the UAE’s Founding Father, carrying forward his wisdom and principles to inspire future generations. He noted that the museum embodies the leadership’s commitment to culture as a pillar of sustainable development, reflecting the nation’s dedication to preserving its heritage while promoting creativity and knowledge exchange.
His Highness also met with Emirati experts and project leaders overseeing the museum’s completion, commending their dedication to delivering a world-class cultural landmark that will enhance Abu Dhabi’s position as a global hub for dialogue, creativity, and cultural exchange.
Once open, visitors will explore six permanent galleries across two floors, covering 300,000 years of human history, along with a temporary exhibition gallery and the Al Masar Garden, a 600-metre-long outdoor exhibition space.
The museum’s collection includes archaeological artefacts and historic objects tracing the earliest evidence of human settlement in the UAE, showcasing trade routes, cultural connections, and the unique identity of Emirati heritage.
Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, said:
“Zayed National Museum embodies the UAE’s vision of culture as a cornerstone of societal and intellectual development. Rooted in this ancient land, it offers an exceptional experience that highlights our nation’s journey and reflects the values laid down by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.”
He added:
“Zayed National Museum is a cultural beacon that embodies the enduring spirit of the Emirati people, narrates the story of our timeless heritage, and conveys the UAE’s message to the world in the universal language of civilisation. Once open, it will serve as a bridge for dialogue between the UAE and the world, further strengthening Abu Dhabi’s status as a global capital of arts, culture, and creativity.”
His Highness Sheikh Khaled was accompanied by Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince Court; Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Chairman of the National Anti-Narcotics Authority and General Supervisor of Police Legacy at Abu Dhabi Police; Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi; Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Office of the Crown Prince; and Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani, Undersecretary at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.
