Dubai, UAE - DP World has appointed Jason Varsamidis as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director for Asia Pacific, with the role taking effect immediately.
He will oversee the company’s regional portfolio of ports, terminals and logistics businesses across 22 geographies, supported by more than 12,000 employees.
Varsamidis moves into the position after serving as Chief Financial Officer of DP World Asia Pacific since 2020, where he was involved in regional strategy, investment planning and business performance.
He previously spent seven years as Chief Financial Officer of DP World Australia and has worked across mergers and acquisitions, infrastructure projects and business turnaround programmes during his career.
His relationship with the business stretches back nearly three decades. Varsamidis joined the then P&O Ports in 1997 before continuing his career with DP World following the group’s expansion.
In the new role, his priorities will include regional strategy, operational performance and the continued expansion of DP World’s integrated logistics capabilities across Asia Pacific.
The company said the appointment is also intended to support stronger end-to-end supply chains and maintain momentum across one of its key growth regions.

He said Varsamidis’ commercial experience and knowledge of the region position him to lead the Asia Pacific business while maintaining continuity across DP World’s strategic priorities.

He said the region has strong opportunities ahead and that he will work with the company’s leadership team, customers and partners to continue advancing its priorities.
DP World said arrangements for the Asia Pacific Chief Financial Officer role will be announced separately.
