RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – October 7, 2025: Saudi-listed developer Dar Al Arkan has announced that it has secured the master plan approvals for its flagship mixed-use development, Shams Ar Riyadh, paving the way for accelerated progress on one of Riyadh’s most ambitious urban communities.

According to the company, the master plan approval marks a major milestone in the project’s development journey, enabling Dar Al Arkan to advance infrastructure works, sales processes, and construction activities. The developer confirmed that Shams Ar Riyadh is expected to be completed before the end of 2026, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s broader Vision 2030 objectives for sustainable urban expansion.

A Landmark Urban Community in North Riyadh

Located in the northern part of Riyadh, Shams Ar Riyadh spans over 5 million square metres (53.8 million sq. ft.) of prime land. The project is designed as a comprehensive mixed-use community, blending residential, commercial, and lifestyle components with integrated public amenities.

Once completed, Shams Ar Riyadh will feature premium villas, residential towers, retail districts, offices, hospitality offerings, and leisure spaces, creating a modern urban environment that caters to both residents and investors.

Dar Al Arkan said the approvals represent an important step in transforming the northern Riyadh landscape into a vibrant, future-ready destination, supporting population growth and the city’s long-term economic diversification strategy.

Progress and Strategic Developments

The company’s recent disclosures also highlighted ongoing engagement with regulatory authorities to ensure smooth project progression. In September, Dar Al Arkan revealed that 2.83 million square metres (30.45 million sq. ft.) of its land in Riyadh had been classified under the White Land Tax (WLT) framework, based on an initial assessment. The classification aligns with government initiatives to promote efficient land utilization and support sustainable development.
