A.R.M. Holding, a UAE-based investment firm, has partnered with renowned architecture studio BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) to develop a transformative 5 square kilometer masterplan centered around Dubai’s historic Jebel Ali Racecourse. This ambitious project aligns with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and aims to redefine urban living through sustainable design and community integration.
A Vision for Sustainable Urban Living
The proposed development envisions an "archipelago of urban islands in a sea of green," featuring a central park that preserves the spatial memory of the original racetrack. This park will serve as the heart of the community, seamlessly connecting eight surrounding neighborhoods designed to foster social interaction and environmental harmony. Bjarke Ingels, Founder and Creative Director of BIG, described the project as a new chapter for Dubai, emphasizing that "environmental responsibility and social sustainability become the foundation, not the footnote, of urban development."
Embracing Emirati Heritage and Global Innovation
Mohammad Saeed Al Shehhi, CEO of A.R.M. Holding, highlighted the project's commitment to blending Emirati cultural identity with global design standards. He stated, "By harmonizing Emirati identity with global design standards, we create spaces that are both culturally significant and future-focused."
The development will incorporate 17 measurable performance indicators to assess its impact on the community and environment, ensuring that the project adheres to principles of creativity, integrity, and agility.
Timeline and Future Outlook
Construction of the Jebel Ali masterplan is scheduled to commence in early 2026. The project aims to set a new benchmark for sustainable urban development in Dubai, offering residents a lifestyle that prioritizes accessibility, green spaces, and community well-being.
This initiative reflects Dubai's ongoing commitment to innovative urban planning and its vision to create inclusive, environmentally responsible communities that cater to a diverse population.
