Ali Mohamed Al-Ali – Chief Executive Officer of Qatari DiarWith more than two decades of experience across senior executive and administrative roles, Al-Ali brings a broad understanding of development, asset management, organisational strategy, and institutional leadership. He joined Qatari Diar in 2023 and progressed through senior leadership positions before becoming Chief Executive Officer in March 2024.
Established in 2005, Qatari Diar has evolved into a globally recognised real estate organisation with developments and investments spanning multiple countries and asset classes. Its portfolio includes large-scale cities, residential communities, hospitality destinations, commercial developments, mixed-use districts, and landmark urban-regeneration projects.
At the centre of the company’s domestic legacy is Lusail City, one of the most ambitious urban developments in the region. Conceived as a complete city for the future, Lusail combines residential districts, commercial centres, hospitality, entertainment, public spaces, transport infrastructure, and major cultural and sporting destinations.
The city has become an important expression of Qatar’s long-term development vision. Its scale, infrastructure, and integrated planning demonstrate how real estate can support economic diversification while creating new environments for residents, businesses, visitors, and investors.
Qatari Diar’s international portfolio extends this ambition to major global cities. Projects such as Chelsea Barracks in London reflect the company’s ability to deliver premium urban developments that respond to their architectural and cultural surroundings while introducing new standards of design, landscaping, sustainability, and contemporary living.
Across its global portfolio, the company has pursued opportunities capable of creating both long-term investment value and meaningful contributions to their surrounding communities. This approach recognises that major developments must respond to local identity while meeting international expectations for quality and performance.
Under Al-Ali’s leadership, asset management has become an increasingly important component of Qatari Diar’s strategy. As the company’s portfolio matures, the focus extends beyond development to optimising existing assets, strengthening operational performance, and ensuring that destinations continue to create value throughout their lifecycle.
Partnerships also remain central to the organisation’s international approach. By working with governments, investors, architects, operators, and development partners, Qatari Diar combines global expertise with a long-term investment perspective.
Al-Ali’s engineering background and executive experience support a leadership approach grounded in delivery, institutional capability, and strategic growth. His role requires balancing the complexity of major international investments with the responsibility of guiding developments that represent Qatar on a global stage.
As cities respond to changing expectations around sustainability, mobility, technology, wellbeing, and quality of life, Qatari Diar is positioned to contribute through developments designed for long-term relevance. Through the continued evolution of Lusail City, the stewardship of an extensive international portfolio, and the pursuit of new strategic opportunities, Eng. Ali Mohamed Al-Ali is guiding Qatari Diar into its next phase. His leadership reflects a vision of real estate as both an investment and a lasting contribution to cities—one capable of connecting people, supporting economic progress, and creating destinations with enduring international significance.
