Born and raised in India, Indu’s technical prowess is backed by a rigorous academic foundation. She earned her degree in Architecture from JNTU in Hyderabad, followed by a Master’s Degree in Design and Architecture from the prestigious School of Planning & Architecture (SPA), New Delhi, in 1993. This deep expertise allows her to seamlessly melt aesthetic vision with technical functionality, bridging the gap between initial ideation and complex construction.
Since establishing her own practice in 2004, Indu has consistently been recognized as one of the Middle East’s top 20 designers. Her portfolio is truly international, with completed projects spanning the GCC, India, East Africa, China, and Italy. By collaborating across various sectors, IRD Design brings a multi-faceted expertise to every project, ensuring that every space is both inspired and disciplined. This ethos is captured in the studio’s guiding principle: "Inspired in Design, Disciplined in Action."
Beyond her design work, Indu is a dedicated mentor to the next generation of construction professionals. She is particularly passionate about gender equity in the industry, spearheading "Re-join" a dedicated program designed to support women architects re-entering the profession after a career break. Her commitment to fostering talent ensures that the industry continues to evolve with diverse and skilled voices.
