Educated in the UK, Michael’s approach is grounded in both design excellence and commercial awareness. He has played a pivotal role in shaping RSP’s Dubai office into a dynamic design hub within a wider network of 12 offices and more than 1,200 professionals. Under his leadership, the studio has secured and delivered landmark projects across the region, working with globally recognised brands and high-profile Clients. A multiple-time Architect of the Year in Dubai, one of his most notable achievements is being personally selected by Giorgio Armani to design the Armani Hotel & Residences in Diriyah, an appointment that reflects a rare level of trust and design credibility. More recently, RSP was commissioned to design a Malaysian royal palace by the Regent of Johor, further reinforcing Michael’s position as a trusted design partner at the highest level.

His leadership has also driven major projects including The Nobu Hotel & Residences Abu Dhabi, The Ritz-Carlton Keturah Resort and several large-scale urban developments across the Middle East. Michael has also been instrumental in building RSP’s masterplanning division into a competitive international force. This is exemplified by Haven, shortlisted at the World Architecture Festival 2025, placing the studio alongside some of the world’s leading design practices. His influence extends far beyond the region, including serving on international judging panels such as the Architizer A+ Awards 2026. Michael continues to influence the industry through both his projects and thought leadership. His work is defined by a clear vision: to create architecture that endures, resonates culturally, and shapes the way people experience place.

Michael believes architecture should distill the essence of a brand or place into a clear and compelling narrative. His approach is rooted in close collaboration with clients, ensuring that each project reflects a deep understanding of their vision while responding to its cultural and environmental context.

Michael draws inspiration from human behaviour. His work is influenced by global travel, regional traditions, and the evolving expectations of how people live, work, and connect. He is particularly driven by the opportunity to shape environments that tell a Story.
