Abu Dhabi, UAE - The UAE has joined GCC ministerial meetings in Bahrain aimed at strengthening industrial integration, regional supply chains and cooperation across manufacturing and advanced technology.

Dr Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, headed the UAE delegation at meetings of the GCC Industrial Cooperation Committee and the Ministerial Committee for Standardization Affairs.

The discussions are focused on building more resilient and competitive Gulf supply chains, accelerating the use of advanced technology and artificial intelligence across industry, and creating more opportunities for private-sector partnerships.

The meetings began on 6 October and continue until 8 October alongside the inaugural Made in GCC Forum and Exhibition 2026 at Exhibition World Bahrain.

The programme is intended to support closer coordination between GCC countries in industry, standards and metrology, while improving the competitiveness of the regional industrial sector.

During the event, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, visited the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology pavilion, which showcased national products, manufacturing capabilities and the country’s adoption of advanced technologies.

UAE companies are also participating in the forum and exhibition, presenting industrial products and capabilities while exploring partnerships across investment, manufacturing, technology and supply chains.

Panel discussions are covering industrial financing, artificial intelligence, innovation, infrastructure and supply chain resilience, with a number of memoranda of understanding expected to be signed between UAE and GCC entities.

The UAE’s industrial exports reached $70.8 billion (AED 260 billion) in 2025, including $25.1 billion (AED 92 billion) in medium- and high-technology industrial exports.

Since its launch, the National In-Country Value Programme has redirected more than $128.8 billion (AED 473 billion) into the UAE economy on a cumulative basis, supporting local companies and strengthening domestic supply chains.

The UAE said its participation forms part of wider efforts to deepen industrial partnerships across the GCC and support more integrated regional value chains.
