Muscat, Oman – 30 July 2025 - The innovative landscape and outdoor spaces design of Madinat Sultan Haitham has been awarded the prestigious “Best Landscape Architecture Award” for 2025–2026 by the Arabian Property Awards. This honor highlights the city’s exceptional planning approach, combining environmental sustainability with human-centric design.
The design of the project’s first phase was developed in collaboration with renowned firms LWK & Partners and Meinhardt, bringing global expertise in urban planning and architecture to the Sultanate. Their joint efforts have created a pedestrian-friendly, green, and livable environment that aligns with the principles of smart and sustainable urban development.
Engineer Amal bint Muslim Al Zaidi, Urban Planner and Landscape Architect at the Executive Office for Future Cities, emphasized the project’s significance: “This award reflects our dedication to high standards in sustainable urban design. Madinat Sultan Haitham is a visionary model that blends functionality with beauty, creating a city that serves its people while respecting the environment.”
The project is currently in its implementation phase, with infrastructure and residential developments already underway. It represents a close collaboration between local and international experts, ensuring alignment with Oman’s broader strategy for integrated urban growth.
The Arabian Property Awards, part of the internationally respected World Property Awards, recognize excellence in architecture and real estate across the region. Judged by a panel of industry leaders, the awards celebrate projects that set new benchmarks in design and planning.
This recognition further solidifies Sultan Haitham City as a cornerstone of Oman’s national development goals, symbolizing the country’s commitment to building future-ready, inclusive, and sustainable cities in line with Oman Vision 2040.
