Kuwait, Al Mutlaa City – Specialities Construction General Trading & Contracting Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kuwait-based Specialities Group Holding, has secured a US$78 million (KWD 24.2 million) contract for the construction and maintenance of infrastructure and public buildings at Suburb Center N1 in Al Mutlaa City.

The contract was approved by Kuwait's Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW), according to a disclosure submitted by Specialities Group Holding to Boursa Kuwait.

Under the agreement, Specialities Construction will be responsible for the construction, completion and maintenance of services, infrastructure and public buildings within Suburb Center N1. The works form part of the broader Al Mutlaa City development, which aims to establish new residential communities supported by essential infrastructure and public facilities.

Located in Jahra Governorate, approximately 40 kilometres northwest of Kuwait City, Al Mutlaa City is one of the largest housing and infrastructure developments in Kuwait.

Covering approximately 100 to 104 square kilometres, the development is planned as a major urban centre comprising 12 residential suburbs. Once fully developed, the city is expected to accommodate between 300,000 and 400,000 residents.

The master plan includes 28,288 residential and villa plots, alongside the public facilities and infrastructure required to serve the planned population.

The project is being overseen by PAHW and forms part of Kuwait's wider efforts to expand residential development and provide housing supported by public services. It is also aligned with the country's Kuwait Vision 2035 development objectives.

The latest contract focuses specifically on Suburb Center N1, one of the designated areas within the wider Al Mutlaa City development. The package covers supporting infrastructure and public buildings rather than the construction of the city's entire residential programme.

The works will contribute to the development of the N1 suburban centre as part of the ongoing implementation of Al Mutlaa City's master plan.

Specialities Group Holding operates across several sectors in Kuwait, including general trading, contracting, construction, oil and gas, and real estate.

Through its subsidiaries, the group is also involved in the manufacture of specialised construction chemicals and waterproofing systems, alongside its contracting activities.

The latest award adds to Specialities Construction's portfolio of infrastructure and building projects in Kuwait and expands its involvement in the country's government-backed residential development programme.
