Saudi Arabia - Nemetschek Group and the Saudi Green Building Alliance have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to support digitalisation and sustainability across Saudi Arabia's built environment.

The agreement makes Nemetschek the first technology company to enter a strategic collaboration with the Saudi Green Building Alliance, a national non-profit organisation focused on sustainable buildings and resilient communities.

The partnership will cover market development, industry events, awareness initiatives and stakeholder engagement aimed at encouraging the use of digital technologies across the planning, design, construction and operation of buildings and infrastructure.

It also supports objectives linked to Saudi Vision 2030 and the Saudi Green Initiative.

Digital twins and building lifecycle management

Nemetschek and SGBA will work together on workshops, training programmes, seminars and knowledge-sharing sessions covering building lifecycle management, asset performance optimisation and digital twin technologies.

The two organisations also plan to identify pilot projects and practical use cases demonstrating how technology can improve operational efficiency, support net-zero objectives and strengthen decision-making throughout the building lifecycle.

Eng. Muayad Simbawa, Managing Director, Middle East, Nemetschek Group, said: “Saudi Arabia is redefining what is possible in the built environment by setting new benchmarks for sustainable development at an unprecedented scale.

“To achieve these ambitions, sustainability and digitalization must advance together. Through our collaboration with SGBA, we aim to help foster greater industry engagement, encourage the adoption of innovative technologies, and support initiatives that enable stakeholders to make smarter, data-driven decisions throughout the entire building lifecycle. We are particularly proud to be the first technology company to formalize this collaboration with SGBA and contribute to the next chapter of the Kingdom's transformation journey.”

Knowledge exchange across the Saudi market

The collaboration will also focus on exchanging global best practices, technical expertise and industry knowledge.

Nemetschek's international experience in digital transformation will be combined with SGBA's network across Saudi Arabia, including government entities, developers, consultants, contractors, academic institutions and sustainability professionals.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Surf, Founder and Chairman of the Board of the Saudi Green Building Alliance, said: “The transition towards a more sustainable built environment requires strong partnerships that connect innovation, expertise, and practical implementation. Our collaboration with Nemetschek Group reflects SGBA’s commitment to bringing together organizations that can help accelerate meaningful progress across the sector.

“By combining global technology leadership with local industry engagement, we aim to support the development of knowledge, skills, innovation, and collaborative initiatives that contribute to Saudi Arabia's sustainability goals and reinforce the Kingdom’s position as a leader in the global green building movement.”

Nemetschek Group provides software for the architecture, engineering, construction and operations sectors, with products spanning planning, construction, building operation and renovation.

The Saudi Green Building Alliance represents Saudi Arabia at the World Green Building Council and works with public and private sector organisations on low-carbon and climate-resilient development.
