Marriott International Signs Nine-Hotel Development Agreement in Egypt

NEW ALAMEIN CITY, EGYPT – Marriott International has signed agreements with Misr Italia Properties and People & Places to develop nine hospitality properties representing more than 1,500 keys across Egypt's coastal and urban destinations.

The multi-project agreement is intended to expand Egypt's hospitality and branded residential offering while supporting the country's wider strategy to grow its tourism sector and strengthen its position as an attractive destination for international investment.

The signing ceremony took place at the government headquarters in New Alamein City under the patronage and in the presence of H.E. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt. The ceremony was also attended by H.E. Sherif Fathy, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, H.E. Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, along with senior executives from Marriott International, Misr Italia Properties and People & Places.

Expanding Egypt's Hospitality Portfolio

The developments will span beach resorts, urban hotels and branded residences across Marriott International's luxury and premium portfolio, including The Ritz-Carlton Hotels, The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts and Autograph Collection.

The projects are designed to serve the evolving needs of both travellers and residents while supporting the continued growth of Egypt's tourism and real estate sectors.

Planned Developments

The Med Ras El Hekma

Within the beachfront community of The Med Ras El Hekma on Egypt's North Coast, east of Alexandria, plans include a 170-room Ritz-Carlton hotel alongside 268 Ritz-Carlton Residences.

Solare Ras El Hekma

Located within the integrated coastal destination of Solare Ras El Hekma, an Autograph Collection hotel is planned with 180 guest rooms, complemented by 250 Autograph Collection branded residences.

The Hills of One

At The Hills of One, a mixed-use development in Sphinx City, West Cairo, plans include a Luxury Collection hotel featuring 180 guest rooms together with 180 branded residences.

Kai Sokhna Red Sea

Within Kai Sokhna Red Sea in Ain Sokhna, an 80-room Autograph Collection hotel will be developed alongside 172 branded residences.

Garden 8

An additional 100-room Autograph Collection hotel is planned within Garden 8, a lifestyle destination in East Cairo.

Long-Term Hospitality Growth

Misr Italia Properties and People & Places are working towards building a portfolio of approximately 50 hospitality assets by 2037, reinforcing their position among Egypt's leading developers of integrated hospitality and lifestyle destinations.

The expansion also supports Egypt's long-term tourism growth strategy while contributing to broader economic development through new hospitality, residential and mixed-use projects.
