Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia - KBR has secured a new contract from Aramco to provide engineering and project execution services for upgrades across the Marjan offshore field in the Arabian Gulf.
The scope covers key offshore processing facilities, gas compression systems and power infrastructure, with engineering work expected to be carried out mainly from KBR’s offices in Al Khobar and Houston.
The programme is intended to support production capacity at Marjan following recent field development work while strengthening associated gas processing and the long-term performance of offshore assets.
KBR will also support the integration of automation, digital technologies and power-system improvements across the facilities.
Jay Ibrahim, President of Sustainable Technology Solutions at KBR said:
"The award builds on the company’s long-standing project execution relationship with Aramco and combines offshore engineering expertise with automation and digital integration."
The latest contract follows the start-up of Aramco’s Marjan crude oil increment, which added 300,000 barrels per day of production capacity.
The Marjan development programme has included a new offshore gas-oil separation plant, 24 offshore oil, gas and water-injection platforms, and expanded onshore processing infrastructure. Aramco originally awarded contracts worth around $18 billion for the combined Marjan and Berri expansion programmes in 2019.
The associated Tanajib Gas Plant began operations in December 2025 and is expected to process 2.6 billion standard cubic feet per day of raw gas from the Marjan and Zuluf fields.
