Dubai, United Arab Emirates - The Rental Disputes Center (RDC) in Dubai recorded strong performance during the period from January to the end of September 2026, successfully concluding 2,350 amicable settlement cases with a total value of AED 401 million and an average resolution time of six days per case. The results reflect the effectiveness of the RDC’s conciliation framework in addressing rental disputes, while reinforcing an approach that combines efficiency with the protection of the legal rights of all parties.

The latest figures form part of the RDC’s ongoing efforts to develop dispute mechanisms for handling rental disputes and enhance the quality of judicial services in line with the continued growth of Dubai’s rental market. The average case-processing time also shows the ability of the Conciliation and Settlement Department to handle cases with a high degree of professionalism, from reviewing the dispute through to reaching fair and mutually agreed solutions.

Commenting on these results, His Excellency Judge Abdulqader Mousa Mohammed, Chairman of the Rental Disputes Center, said: “The performance of the amicable settlement mechanism during the first nine months of this year underscores its capacity to bring rental disputes to swift and effective conclusions and confirms that timely resolution, procedural quality, and the protection of rights are all integral outcomes of efforts grounded in specialised expertise and an immediate response to the needs of disputing parties. The RDC continues to advance its legal framework to support the stability of contractual relationships and foster confidence in Dubai’s judicial system.”

Conciliation is considered a key alternative means adopted by the RDC to resolve disputes arising between parties to rental relationships. It provides a clear and structured legal process that enables those involved to reach a common understanding and conclude a settlement agreement approved by the supervising judge, giving it the force of an enforceable instrument.

Settlement agreements offer disputing parties several benefits, most notably the ability to reach mutually acceptable outcomes that satisfy all concerned without resorting to formal litigation. They also provide a pathway that promotes the values of consensus and cooperation within society, while helping reduce the social and economic impacts associated with prolonged rental disputes.

This role is taking on greater importance amid growing demand for more flexible legal frameworks. Accordingly, the RDC operates within a strategic vision focused on maintaining the efficiency of established procedures, ensuring fair access to justice and bolstering a culture of amicable settlement as an effective way of resolving disputes within the emirate’s rental sector.
