Dubai’s Burj Al Arab is scheduled to reopen in October 2027 following an 18-month restoration programme covering its suites, restaurants, leisure areas and interiors.
Jumeirah temporarily closed the hotel in April 2026 for the first major restoration of the property since it opened in 1999.
The programme is intended to preserve the hotel’s established design while updating key interior spaces after more than 25 years of operation.
Visit Dubai currently lists October 2027 as the reopening date, although an exact day has not been announced.
Interiors and guest areas to be upgraded
The restoration covers Burj Al Arab’s 198 suites, restaurants and leisure areas.
Jumeirah said materials associated with the hotel, including gold leaf, Statuario marble and Swarovski crystal, will remain part of the interiors, alongside updated finishes, fabrics and technology.
The sail-shaped exterior will remain unchanged.
French interior architect Tristan Auer is leading the restoration. His previous hospitality projects include Hôtel de Crillon in Paris and Les Bains Douches.
Jumeirah CEO Thomas B. Meier said the programme is focused on preserving the hotel’s identity while preparing the property for its next phase of operation.
Once complete, the restoration will return 198 suites to Dubai’s luxury hotel inventory.
Jumeirah has not yet announced when reservations will reopen, with October 2027 remaining the current target for the hotel’s return.
