ARTDOM names Saudi Arabia Design Map finalists across six categories

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - ARTDOM has announced the finalists of its Design Map Saudi Arabia initiative across six categories, following an expert review of more than 600 sites across the Kingdom.

Developed in collaboration with international architectural community ARCHINET, the project brings together public spaces across Riyadh, Jeddah, AlUla and other Saudi cities. Winners will be announced during ARTDOM Riyadh, taking place on 20–21 October 2026.

ARTDOM describes the initiative as Saudi Arabia’s first professional design guide to public spaces. Created ahead of the Riyadh exhibition, it is intended as a lasting reference for architects, designers, developers and travellers exploring the country’s architecture, interiors and hospitality destinations.

More than 600 sites reviewed

The expert community included architects, designers, hospitality representatives and cultural institutions from Saudi Arabia and Europe. Projects were assessed across six categories:

• Restaurants
• Hotels
• Museums and art galleries
• Wellness and spa destinations
• Landmark architectural projects
• Furniture showrooms

The shortlist spans established landmarks and newer spaces, highlighting both the destinations and the practices behind their design.

Studios represented include Rabih Geha Architects, AZAZ Architects, Masquespacio, Oppenheim Architecture, Kengo Kuma & Associates, Killa Design and AW2 Architecture & Interiors.

The map also features work by Foster + Partners, Zaha Hadid Architects, Omrania, Henning Larsen, Gensler, HOK, Populous and Adjaye Associates.

A design reference for professionals and travellers

Daria Zolotova, Founder and Creative Director of ARTDOM, said: “We sought to create not just a list of beautiful places, but a professional tool that will help architects, designers, developers and travellers see how Vision 2030 is transforming the Kingdom’s public spaces. It was important to us that the selection was carried out by an independent expert community — this ensures objectivity and international recognition”.

The guide includes venue descriptions, photographs, map locations and contact information. It is available through the ARTDOM Design Map website

The inaugural edition will be formally presented during ARTDOM Riyadh 2026, with the winners recognised at an awards ceremony during the two-day event.

ARTDOM Riyadh prepares for October edition

ARTDOM Riyadh 2026 will combine an expanded exhibition with an expert programme, cultural initiatives, design premieres and new industry projects.

Organisers expect more than 6,000 professionals and design-focused guests, over 80 interior design brands and original creators, more than 50 industry speakers, and over 1,400 programme attendees.

Gallery Design joins as Headline Partner. Participating names include ID Works, Technogym, Insel, Casa Magana, Alexandra Collection, Maison Dar, Vista Alegre, Venini and Henge.

Technogym is also the Design Map’s Wellness category partner and will showcase its solutions at the exhibition.

The programme will include a dedicated Collectible Design & Art section featuring original creators, limited-edition objects and contemporary creative practices. Among those taking part is Alif, whose work translates Arabic calligraphy into sculptural and contemporary visual forms.
