Image: AradaSharjah, UAE: UAE developer Arada has awarded two major construction contracts worth $555 million (AED2.04 billion) for the next phase of residential development at Aljada, its flagship $9.53 billion (AED35 billion) master-planned community in Sharjah.
The contracts cover the construction of 2,210 residential units across 14 apartment buildings, representing the next stage of delivery within the large-scale mixed-use development.
Construction of the five Nesba buildings on East Boulevard and the five Safa buildings on West Boulevard has been awarded to China Tiesiju Civil Engineering Group Co., a subsidiary of global infrastructure leader China Railway Group.
Meanwhile, the contract for The Gate buildings 3–6, located near the southern entrances of the community, has been awarded to Mohammed Abdulmohsin Al Kharafi and Sons LLC, the Kuwait-headquartered contractor with extensive experience across the Middle East.
Al Kharafi has previously collaborated with Arada on several developments including Aljada, Masaar, and Nasma Residences, reinforcing the long-standing partnership between the two companies.
Both contracts are scheduled to run for 26 months, with construction expected to complete in Q2 2028. Delivery will take place ahead of the opening of Madar Mall, one of Aljada’s key retail anchors.
Each residential block will feature modern apartment layouts ranging from one-bedroom units to four-bedroom family residences, with smart home technology integrated across all properties as standard.

The Gate 3–4 complex consists of two buildings positioned at the main entrance of East Boulevard, directly opposite SABIS International School – Aljada.
Nearby, Gate 5–6 forms another two-building cluster located at the West Boulevard entrance, opposite Raffles World Academy Aljada, which is currently under construction and expected to open for the 2026–2027 academic year.
Spanning 24 million sq ft, Aljada is Sharjah’s largest mixed-use development, ultimately delivering more than 25,000 homes alongside a wide range of lifestyle infrastructure.
The master plan includes retail districts, sports and wellness facilities, hospitality venues, office space, and educational institutions, creating a fully integrated urban community.
Already home to around 20,000 residents, the development benefits from strong connectivity, located minutes from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Al Dhaid Road, and Sharjah International Airport.
