AJMAN – July 8, 2025 – The Ajman Department of Municipality and Planning has officially launched its new "Building Compliance Package", a forward-thinking initiative aimed at enhancing building sustainability and reinforcing safety standards across the emirate. The move supports the Ajman Vision 2030, which envisions a thriving, modern urban environment that elevates both quality of life and the emirate’s overall appeal.

The new package is being rolled out in collaboration with strategic partners, including the General Headquarters of Ajman Police and the General Directorate of Civil Defense. The joint effort underscores the emirate’s commitment to inter-agency cooperation, ensuring that safety protocols are effectively implemented and public security is prioritized.

A Proactive Approach to Building Safety

His Excellency Abdul-Rahman Mohammed Al-Nuaimi, Director-General of the Department, emphasized the significance of the package:

“The building compliance package is an essential pillar in improving the efficiency of infrastructure, and increasing the readiness of buildings to face various risks, by the implementation of proactive procedures that contribute to the enhancement of the security and safety of the populace.” He appreciated the efforts of the active partnership, the contribution of entities, and the role of building owners in supporting compliance efforts, and the achievement of the best results.

His Excellency added: “The package targets building owners, real estate offices, property management offices or whoever is representing them, to ensure their facilities’ compliance with all applicable stipulations and standards.”

He highlighted the importance of unified efforts between government bodies and the private sector in delivering high-quality services that ultimately boost happiness, well-being, and the overall safety index. The initiative also aims to reduce fire incidents per 100,000 residents while promoting a healthy living environment.

Elevating Urban Aesthetics and Functionality

The Building Compliance Package outlines a series of mandatory requirements, including:

  • Maintaining building sustainability and the aesthetic integrity of facades
  • Installing early warning systems
  • Performing regular maintenance of firefighting systems
  • Ensuring the presence and functionality of surveillance cameras

The Department is encouraging all relevant stakeholders to actively engage with the initiative and take advantage of the support services provided. The goal is to create a more attractive, efficient, and safe urban environment that aligns with the vision of ideal living standards in the Emirate of Ajman.
