Chris Barnes

Chris Barnes is the Founder of Broadway Interiors, a multi award-winning design consultancy established in 1999 and recognised across the Middle East for delivering innovative, high-quality and commercially intelligent interiors. As the creative force behind the studio, Barnes leads with a hands-on, client-focused approach, remaining actively involved in all aspects of the business from concept design and tender strategy through to design guardianship and project delivery.

Widely regarded as one of the region’s top designers, Barnes has been shortlisted multiple times for Interior Designer of the Year. His recent accolades reflect both longevity and continued industry impact, including receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Design Middle East Awards in 2024. In 2025, Broadway Interiors secured Best Office Design at the Commercial Interior Design Awards for the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre, further reinforcing the studio’s leadership in workplace design.

Under Barnes’ direction, Broadway Interiors has built a diverse portfolio spanning hospitality and commercial sectors, delivering high-profile projects across the region. The studio has achieved multiple accolades at the International Property Awards across a variety of sectors, highlighting its versatility and strength in design. Notable projects include award-winning F&B destinations such as CRANK Fit, Asia Asia and Ula, alongside major commercial developments for organisations including the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre and Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority.

Beyond project delivery, Barnes is passionate about nurturing emerging talent and supporting the wider industry through student programmes and design initiatives. A member of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB), he continues to push creative boundaries while driving Broadway Interiors forward as one of the region’s most respected and forward-thinking design studios.
