Shurooq Launches Sharjah Sustainable City II Eco-Community

Sharjah, UAE: Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), in collaboration with SEE Holding, has announced the launch of Sharjah Sustainable City II, a new integrated residential community designed to advance eco-friendly urban living. The development builds on the strong performance of Sharjah Sustainable City, the emirate’s first purpose-built sustainable residential community.

Vision-led sustainable urban development

The project reflects Shurooq’s long-term strategy to deliver innovative, people-first urban destinations that prioritise quality of life while supporting balanced and future-ready growth. The collaboration draws on SEE Holding’s extensive experience in the planning and delivery of sustainable cities, combining smart infrastructure with responsible design principles.

Sharjah Sustainable City II is positioned as an evolutionary model for future cities, integrating human-centric design, clean energy solutions, local food production, advanced waste and recycling systems, and green mobility. Sustainability is embedded into everyday life, underpinned by eco-conscious living and social responsibility.

Residential offering and community scale

Sharjah Sustainable City II will comprise 1,032 homes, including 944 three- and four-bedroom townhouses and 88 five-bedroom villas. The residential mix is designed to balance innovation, sustainability, and modern living requirements within a fully integrated community framework.

Design, technology, and sustainability features

Spanning 7.8 million square feet in the Al Rahmaniya area, Sharjah Sustainable City II introduces a comprehensive sustainability framework anchored by a 2 km green spine that connects the community and promotes exploration through eco-friendly transport options.

All homes are designed as smart residences and are equipped with solar panels and energy-efficient appliances aimed at reducing utility costs. The master plan incorporates farmlands and biodomes to support local food production, alongside biodiverse landscaping and ecological habitats that reinforce long-term environmental stewardship.
