Oman's Real Estate Transaction Value Reaches $3.7 Billion in H1 2026

Oman's real estate transaction value rose 5.4% to $3.7 billion in H1 2026, driven by stronger property sales, according to NCSI data.

MUSCAT, OMAN – Oman's real estate transaction value increased 5.4% year-on-year to $3.7 billion (RO1.434 billion) during the first half of 2026, supported by stronger sales activity, according to data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) and reported by Oman News Agency (ONA).

The increase was driven primarily by growth in property sales, with both transaction values and volumes recording annual gains.

Property Sales Continue to Grow

The value of sales contracts reached $1.78 billion (RO688 million) during H1 2026, representing a 12.2% increase compared to $1.58 billion (RO613 million) recorded during the same period last year.

The number of sales transactions also rose 6.9% to 34,017, up from 31,831 in the first six months of 2025.

Mortgage Activity Remains Stable

The total value of mortgage contracts stood at $1.91 billion (RO740.2 million), reflecting a marginal 0.3% decline year-on-year.

Despite the slight decrease in value, mortgage activity continued to strengthen, with the number of mortgage agreements increasing 25.7% to 13,383, compared with 10,647 during the same period last year.

Property Swaps Increase in Value

The value of property swap contracts rose 20.3% to $15 million (RO5.8 million) during the first half of the year.

However, the number of swap transactions declined 39.3% to 362.

Title Deeds Decline

According to the NCSI, the number of title deeds issued fell 8% year-on-year to 101,700.

Meanwhile, title deeds issued to citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries declined 22.4% to 541 during the reporting period.
