Meraas and BGRE Break Ground on Solaya Beachfront Community in Dubai

DUBAI, UAE: Meraas, a member of Dubai Holding Real Estate, and BGRE, formerly Brookfield Properties, have broken ground on Solaya, an exclusive beachfront residential development in Jumeirah 1.

The milestone moves Solaya from the planning and design stages into the delivery phase, with groundworks now underway across the development.

Swissboring Overseas Piling Corp. Ltd has been appointed to carry out the initial works, including shoring, excavation, piling and dewatering, with completion scheduled between September and November 2026.

234 Beachfront Residences Across 40 Acres

Solaya will comprise 234 beachfront residences across nine buildings, set within 40 acres in Jumeirah 1.

The development will offer a collection of two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom residences, alongside penthouses, signature garden houses and duplexes.

The start of construction represents a key delivery milestone for the beachfront project as Meraas and BGRE advance development in one of Dubai's most established coastal neighbourhoods.

Foster + Partners Designs Solaya

Solaya has been designed by Foster + Partners, with interiors by 1508 London.

The project combines architecture and interiors with curated wellness amenities and direct access to Dubai's coastline. Delivered under the Meraas brand, the development forms part of the company's portfolio of lifestyle destinations and residential communities across Dubai.

Located in Jumeirah 1, Solaya is positioned to combine a private beachfront setting with connectivity to Dubai's cultural, lifestyle and commercial districts.

With groundworks now underway and the initial construction package scheduled for completion between September and November 2026, the development is moving into its next stage of delivery.
