DUBAI, UAE: Dubai Square has unveiled a new concept for an air-conditioned parking environment with full interior design treatment, extending the destination’s design approach beyond the mall itself and into the arrival and departure experience.

The concept repositions parking as part of the wider customer journey rather than purely functional infrastructure, with climate control, architectural detailing and interior design intended to create a more seamless transition between vehicle and destination.

Parking Designed as Part of the Destination

Under the proposed concept, Dubai Square’s parking areas would incorporate coordinated interior finishes, ceilings, lighting, wayfinding and architectural details within a climate-controlled environment.

The aim is to create a more comfortable and intuitive experience from the moment visitors arrive, while improving navigation and reducing the sense of separation between the parking structure and the mall.

Mohamed Alabbar said: “At Dubai Square, the customer experience should begin before the mall entrance. Parking should be comfortable, intuitive and beautifully designed - not an afterthought. Every part of the journey, from arrival to departure, should reflect the quality of the destination,”

Extending Dubai Square’s Mobility Vision

The parking concept forms part of Dubai Square’s broader approach to mobility and customer experience.

Emaar announced Dubai Square in December 2025 as the world's first drive-through mall, with the wider destination conceived around integrated transport, pedestrian-friendly streets and next-generation retail.

The proposed parking environment extends that approach to the first and final stages of each visit, focusing on climate comfort, clear navigation and a consistent design language.

Focus on Climate Comfort and Wayfinding

The design concept brings together climate control, lighting, materials, wayfinding and mobility within a unified environment.

Rather than treating parking as a secondary service space, Dubai Square aims to integrate it more closely with the retail and hospitality experience.

The approach is intended to establish a new benchmark for how large-scale retail destinations consider parking infrastructure, particularly in hot-climate environments where comfort and ease of movement can significantly shape the customer experience.
