Dubai, UAE – October 9, 2025: Bruno Guélaff is a distinguished architect and Design Director at BG Group in Dubai, UAE, where he leads innovative and award-winning projects that blend functionality with emotional design.
As the Design Director of the acclaimed boutique firm Studio Bruno Guelaff for the past 17 years, Bruno has been deeply involved in every phase of his projects, from architecture and master planning to interior design, landscaping, furniture design, and branding. A true multidisciplinary visionary, he ensures that every design element contributes to a cohesive and personalized experience.
With a background in sociology, Bruno’s philosophy centers on how spaces influence the way people interact with their environments. For him, design is an emotional language, one that shapes not only physical surroundings but also human experience. “Through thoughtful design,” he believes, “we can shape interactions and impact daily life.”
BG Group was born when Bruno Guélaff and Khalid Kaluti’s professional paths crossed in Dubai. After collaborating as clients and recognizing their shared approach to design excellence, the two decided to combine their expertise to create something exceptional.
Their goal: to build a transparent, trustworthy Design + Build company that delivers high-end residential experiences, including pools, landscaping, and award-winning architecture. The result is a brand defined by quality, collaboration, and creativity, offering clients an integrated journey from concept to completion.
BG Group provides full turnkey solutions, covering architecture, interior design, home automation, MEP, pools, landscaping, lighting, and the luxury Italian kitchen brand Pedini. Its award-winning team of designers, architects, engineers, and craftsmen ensures seamless communication and precision across every phase.
Speaking passionately about his process, Bruno says:
“It is my privilege to be able to design a true home for each of our patrons — to understand their cultural backgrounds, how they interact with their families, with food, with media — and then translate that onto paper into a fluid, personalized architectural layout representing the way they experience the world around them.”
Today, BG Group is delivering a series of luxury Design + Build projects across Dubai, from Dubai Hills to Pearl Jumeirah, each reflecting the studio’s signature combination of technical mastery and timeless beauty.
Nestled in the heart of Sobha Hartland, La Maison Horizontale is a visionary residential project by BG Group, designed by Bruno Guelaff, who was recognized as Design Middle East’s Architect of the Year 2024.
Overlooking a 2.7-kilometer crystal-clear lagoon, this architectural gem is framed by palm-lined promenades and tranquil waterfront views. Inspired by the colors of the desert and the soul of old Dubai, the villa’s design merges tradition with modernity. Warm sandy beiges, rich ochres, and deep terracottas reflect the vast desert dunes while integrating seamlessly into Dubai’s contemporary skyline.
A Grand Entrance with Timeless Elegance
The villa’s entrance embodies refined materiality, smooth beige micro-cement paired with classic travertine tiles — creating a serene and sophisticated ambiance from the very first step.
Floating Horizon Slates and Greened Slabs
Architectural features such as Horizon Slates define the villa’s silhouette, appearing to float gracefully while framing its bold modern structure. Hanging gardens and Greened Slabs soften the geometry, blending architecture and nature through lush greenery and warm, earthy tones that evoke the spirit of old Dubai.
A Play of Light, Shadow, and Texture
Dynamic sleek grooves carve across the villa’s surfaces, creating a poetic interplay of light and shadow that transforms throughout the day. This subtle detailing adds depth and elegance, exemplifying Bruno Guelaff’s mastery of modern expression balanced with timeless emotion.
With La Maison Horizontale, Studio Bruno Guelaff once again demonstrates its ability to blend contemporary design with cultural heritage, redefining luxury living in Dubai’s evolving landscape.
Studio Bruno Guelaff is also the design force behind The Chedi Private Residences, a landmark project launched by Devmark in collaboration with Al Seeb Real Estate Development. The studio oversaw every element — from architecture and interiors to the landscaped environments, delivering a unified and sophisticated design narrative.
For more than three decades, The Chedi has embodied timeless elegance, refined hospitality, and the seamless harmony of heritage and modernity. From the serene shores of Oman to the cultural vibrance of Japan, the brand’s legacy of understated luxury has earned it international acclaim.
Now, that legacy arrives in Dubai with The Chedi Private Residences, the world’s first standalone private branded residence under The Chedi name. Located on Sheikh Zayed Road, this 52-storey tower soars 240 meters, its sleek glass façade reflecting the skyline it enhances.
Designed by Studio Bruno Guelaff, the project redefines grandeur with a collection of two- to five-bedroom villas and duplexes, including the triplex Pinnacle Mansion, a one-of-a-kind masterpiece crowning the tower.
