Egypt’s Grand Egyptian Museum Finally Opens

In this video, we highlight a historic cultural milestone. The long-awaited opening of Egypt’s Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) in Giza, two decades after construction first began.

Costing nearly $1 billion, the Grand Egyptian Museum is now the largest archaeological museum in the world, spanning 480,000 square meters and housing over 100,000 artifacts, including treasures from the tomb of Tutankhamun.

Located just two kilometers from the Giza Pyramids, the museum’s striking architecture was designed by Heneghan Peng Architects to merge ancient heritage with modern innovation, featuring panoramic glass walls offering breathtaking views of the pyramids.

The opening marks a new chapter for Egypt’s tourism and cultural sector, with global experts predicting a surge in visitors eager to experience one of the most ambitious museum projects ever built.
