Birmingham City FC Reveals Sports Quarter Vision for East Birmingham

Birmingham City FC has revealed new images of its ambitious Sports Quarter vision, a major regeneration project that could reshape the future of east Birmingham.

At the centre of the plans is the proposed Powerhouse Stadium, a bold new home for the club inspired by Birmingham’s industrial heritage. But the wider vision goes far beyond football, with plans for a mixed-use destination combining sport, entertainment, retail, housing, public spaces, and community facilities.

The masterplan also includes a world-class training centre, a dedicated women’s stadium, an indoor arena, and new transport infrastructure designed to support major matchday crowds.

Formal plans are expected to be submitted in March 2027, with the stadium potentially completed by 2030. If delivered, the project could transform Bordesley Green into one of the UK’s most exciting sports-led regeneration districts.
