Wasl Opens Central Park at Wasl Gate in Dubai’s Jebel Ali

DUBAI, UAE – Dubai has unveiled a major new public green space in Jebel Ali, with Wasl Group opening Central Park within the Wasl Gate master development as the emirate continues to strengthen investment in community-led urban infrastructure and liveability.

Spanning approximately 82,700 square metres, the park is described as one of the largest green spaces developed within a residential community in Dubai. Located inside Wasl Gate, the destination is open not only to residents of the development but also to visitors from across the city, reinforcing its role as a wider public amenity within Dubai’s expanding urban landscape.

Positioned as a large shared green space in the heart of a growing residential district, Central Park has been designed to offer a setting for recreation, social interaction and outdoor activity amid the surrounding built environment. The launch reflects broader shifts in Dubai’s urban planning priorities, with developers and public entities placing greater emphasis on parks, wellness-led amenities and community-focused design.

The park features jogging and cycling tracks, sports courts, a skate park, picnic areas, an amphitheatre lawn and dedicated food truck spaces. Together, these elements are intended to support family activity, encourage healthier lifestyles and create a more engaging public realm within one of Dubai’s fast-growing residential corridors.

Wasl said the project aligns with Dubai Social Agenda 33, the government’s long-term strategy aimed at improving quality of life while strengthening family and community wellbeing across the emirate.

“As 2026 marks the Year of the Family, Central Park stands as a clear embodiment of our ongoing commitment to creating environments that foster meaningful connections and enrich everyday living,” the company said in a statement.

The development of the park also reflects the increasing role of sustainability in the UAE’s urban expansion agenda. According to Wasl, the project was built using environmentally sustainable materials, in line with the wider push toward greener and more responsible community development.

Located near Sheikh Zayed Road and Energy Metro Station in Jebel Ali, Wasl Gate is one of several large-scale master-planned communities intended to serve Dubai’s growing population. The addition of Central Park strengthens the development’s amenity offering while supporting the emirate’s move toward more integrated and liveable neighbourhoods.

Wasl Group, one of Dubai’s largest property developers, manages more than 60,000 residential and commercial units and over 1,000 buildings across the emirate.

Dubai has in recent years accelerated efforts to create more complete residential districts, with developers moving beyond housing delivery to focus on mixed-use environments that prioritise recreation, wellbeing and social connection. Similar approaches can be seen across communities such as Dubai Hills Estate, Tilal Al Ghaf, Expo City Dubai’s residential districts, Mohammed Bin Rashid City, and Wasl Gate itself.
