Sharjah Executive Council Approves New Municipal Structures

Sharjah Executive Council has approved organisational structures for municipalities across the emirate and reviewed ACRES 2026 results, which recorded $1.31 billion in sales.

SHARJAH, UAE – The Sharjah Executive Council has approved the general organisational structures of municipalities across several cities and regions in the emirate, as part of efforts to enhance government efficiency, institutional performance and municipal service delivery.

According to WAM, the approval came during a council meeting chaired by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council, at the Ruler’s Office.

The meeting discussed a number of government-related topics aimed at supporting further progress across key sectors in Sharjah.

In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the council approved the organisational structures for the municipalities of Khorfakkan, Kalba, Dibba Al Hisn, Al Dhaid, Al Madam, Mleiha, Al Bataeh, and Al Hamriyah.

The move is intended to support government entities in performing their roles more efficiently, while strengthening institutional capabilities and advancing excellence and sustainability in government work.

The approval also reflects Sharjah’s continued focus on developing qualified national talent capable of supporting the municipal sector, improving technical service delivery and ensuring the protection of public health.

The council also reviewed the results of the Sharjah Real Estate Exhibition (ACRES) 2026, which was held in January with the participation of more than 120 companies showcasing over 200 projects.

The exhibition recorded sales worth AED4.8 billion ($1.31 billion), while the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department reported a 45.3 percent increase in revenues during the event.

The presentation also highlighted visitor numbers at ACRES 2026, which exceeded 18,000 visitors from various nationalities. The accompanying programme included 22 training courses, workshops and panel discussions, aimed at improving real estate awareness, investment knowledge and guidance around buying and selling.

The discussions underline Sharjah’s continued efforts to strengthen both its government operating model and its real estate sector, supporting long-term institutional development, public service efficiency and investment activity across the emirate.
