Saudi Arabia Launches $2bn Jewel of the Bride Project in Jeddah

JEDDAH, SAUDI ARABIA – Saudi Arabia has launched the “Jewel of the Bride” (Jawharat Al Arous) project in Jeddah, a large-scale $2 billion (SAR7.5 billion) residential and mixed-use development positioned as one of the Kingdom’s major urban expansion initiatives.

The project forms part of broader efforts to increase housing supply, support long-term population growth and expand integrated urban communities across Jeddah’s northern corridor, one of the city’s fastest-developing areas.

Spanning approximately 107 million square metres, the development is planned as a comprehensive urban destination comprising 18 residential neighbourhoods designed to accommodate more than 700,000 residents.

The masterplan also includes more than 80,000 residential and commercial plots, alongside a broad range of public services, infrastructure and government facilities aimed at creating a fully integrated and self-sustaining urban environment.

The scale of the project positions it among the Kingdom’s most significant residential expansion developments currently underway, reflecting increasing focus on large-scale community-led planning and long-term infrastructure investment.

Supporting Vision 2030 housing objectives

The launch aligns with Saudi Arabia’s wider Vision 2030 strategy, which prioritises urban development, housing accessibility and the expansion of livable cities across the Kingdom.

Projects such as Jewel of the Bride are expected to play an important role in addressing future housing demand while supporting economic diversification and population growth in key metropolitan areas.

The development is also expected to contribute to the evolution of Jeddah’s urban landscape by creating new residential hubs supported by commercial activity, public amenities and essential infrastructure.
