Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – August 23, 2025 - The Sports Boulevard Foundation has officially issued a tender for the construction of what is set to become the world’s tallest “sports tower”, located within Riyadh’s Athletics District. The project envisions a 130-meter-tall structure encompassing 84,000 square meters and hosting over 30 dedicated sports facilities. Tender submissions are now open through 30 September 2025.
The Global Sports Tower is central to the USD 23 billion Sports Boulevard initiative, one of four flagship developments announced under Saudi Vision 2030. Alongside King Salman Park, Green Riyadh, and Riyadh Art, the tower anchors a grand strategy to transform Riyadh into a dynamic, livable global city.
Key features of the tower include:
The tower forms part of a broader 135-kilometer linear park, blending sport, culture, and nature across Riyadh. Already, 83 km of this corridor, lined with pedestrian, cycling, and equestrian paths, are open to the public
The project adheres to a “Sports Boulevard Design Code” inspired by Salmani architecture, marrying modernity with cultural heritage. It also includes broad sustainability aims, from renewable energy to expanded biodiversity and improved air quality.

The tower’s design gained approval in mid-2024 under the guidance of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, reflecting its strategic importance. Soon-to-be-launched, it promises to be a global sports and architectural icon in Riyadh's urban fabric.
The Sports Boulevard project stretches from Wadi Hanifah in the west to Wadi Al-Sulai in the east, with over 4.4 million square meters of green open space and up to 50 multidisciplinary sports facilities envisioned along the route.
The tender process is now underway and will close by 30 September 2025. Winning bidders will shape not just a landmark tower but also Riyadh’s next chapter in integrated urban, sporting, and recreational infrastructure.
