Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - Rasmal Ventures and Saudi consulting firm Strategic Gears have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at creating stronger investment and business links between Saudi Arabia and Asian markets.

Under the agreement, Rasmal Ventures will provide Strategic Gears and its clients with access to its network across Asia, while Strategic Gears will support Rasmal’s portfolio companies seeking opportunities in Saudi Arabia.

The partnership is intended to create a two-way route for companies, investors and expertise moving between the Kingdom and Asian markets.

Rasmal Ventures has been expanding its investment presence across Asia, including activity in Hong Kong and South Korea. The Qatar-based investment firm focuses on opportunities across MENA, Türkiye and Asia and has positioned cross-border market access as part of its wider investment strategy.

Strategic Gears, meanwhile, provides strategy, market-entry and economic development advisory services to public- and private-sector organisations in Saudi Arabia and internationally.

The collaboration is expected to give Saudi companies working with Strategic Gears access to Rasmal’s investor, founder and corporate networks in Asia.

At the same time, companies backed by Rasmal Ventures will be able to use Strategic Gears’ local market knowledge and business relationships when assessing expansion into Saudi Arabia.

Soumaya Ben Beya Dridje, Partner at Rasmal Ventures, said: "the agreement connects Saudi Arabia’s large and rapidly developing economy with Asian markets that are accounting for an increasing share of global growth."

She said: "the partnership would support Saudi companies seeking expansion opportunities in Asia while helping Rasmal-backed companies establish a stronger presence in the Kingdom."

For Strategic Gears, the agreement adds an international market-access element to the services it already provides to Saudi organisations.

Nasser Alqahtani, Managing Partner at Strategic Gears, said: "Saudi companies are increasingly looking beyond the domestic market and identifying Asia as an important destination for future growth."

He added: "that the partnership gives Strategic Gears clients a route into Asian markets through an investor that already has established relationships in the region, while also creating an entry channel for Rasmal portfolio companies into Saudi Arabia."

The two firms plan to develop specific initiatives under the agreement over the coming months.

These are expected to include company introductions, joint market briefings and co-hosted engagements, with an emphasis on facilitating the movement of companies, investment capital and expertise between Saudi Arabia and Asia.

The agreement comes as Saudi Arabia continues to attract international companies and investors under its Vision 2030 economic diversification programme, while Gulf investors increasingly look toward Asian technology and growth markets.
