SINTRA, PORTUGAL – 14 July 2025 - Quinta da Felicidade, the whimsical “Disney-inspired” mansion in the hills of Sintra, is back on the market after an extensive restoration, now listed at approximately $26 million USD (€24M). Once abandoned and nearly demolished, the landmark property has been fully revived and reintroduced to high-end buyers.

Commissioned in the 1980s by Portuguese tech entrepreneur Carlos Maia Nogueira, the estate was built as a tribute to his daughter. Inspired by Disneyland Paris, the mansion features a central castle that mirrors the iconic theme park structure. Official blueprints and photos were reportedly used to ensure authenticity.

Lavish Design Across 19 Bedrooms

Spanning over 8,500 square metres of land in Malveira da Serra, the estate includes 19 bedrooms, 20 bathrooms, and multiple luxury features: an indoor heated pool with Venezuelan blue marble, underfloor heating, three outdoor pools, marble columns, a grand ballroom, a hidden safe, and even a private bunker.

After the collapse of Nogueira’s company Solbi in 2008, the mansion was left in disrepair. It endured vandalism, trespassing, and legal hurdles, including demolition threats, before being repossessed by creditors. Years later, the property underwent a full-scale renovation, restoring its unique grandeur.

A Mansion Built for Grandeur and Imagination

Beyond its fantasy-like exterior, the mansion blends architectural opulence with imaginative flair. Stained-glass windows, sweeping staircases, and castle-style turrets complement the refined interior finishes. Custom chandeliers, hand-carved woodwork, and panoramic terraces enhance the estate’s character, making it equally suited for private living or high-profile hospitality use. This one-of-a-kind property is more than a home, it's a landmark of creativity, nostalgia, and architectural ambition.

A Rare Market Opportunity

Now listed at €24 million (approx. $26 million USD), the property has drawn global attention, not just for its extravagant design but for its symbolic rebirth. With panoramic views, exotic gardens, and full privacy, just minutes from Sintra, Quinta da Felicidade is positioned as one of Portugal’s most distinctive real estate opportunities.
