RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA - Philips Smart Locks has officially launched in Saudi Arabia through a strategic partnership with Jarir Bookstore, introducing a new portfolio of climate-engineered smart home access solutions designed specifically for the Kingdom’s environmental conditions and rapidly expanding smart living sector.
The launch, developed by official licensee Conex and brought to the Saudi market by exclusive local distributor Kiwi Information Technology, reflects the growing demand for integrated security and smart home technologies across the Kingdom as digital adoption accelerates under Vision 2030.
Timed alongside the Eid Al Adha period and a major promotional campaign at Jarir Bookstore, the launch marks a significant expansion for Philips within the Gulf’s evolving smart home and residential technology landscape.
The Saudi smart home market continues to experience strong growth, supported by rising internet penetration, increasing consumer demand for connected living solutions, and wider national digital transformation initiatives.
Industry projections estimate that Saudi Arabia’s smart lock market could expand from approximately $355 million in 2025 to more than $931 million by 2034, representing a compound annual growth rate of 11.25%.
More broadly, the security and access control segment remains one of the strongest-performing areas within the Kingdom’s smart home industry, accounting for a substantial share of sector revenues as consumers increasingly prioritise convenience, automation, and enhanced residential security.
The launch also highlights a growing focus on localisation and climate-specific engineering within the region’s consumer technology sector.
Recognising the challenges posed by Saudi Arabia’s extreme temperatures, dust exposure, and high-frequency usage conditions, the newly launched Philips smart locks have been specifically engineered for long-term performance in Gulf environments.
The initial product line available through Jarir Bookstore includes two flagship models designed for both residential convenience and durability.
The Philips DDL611 is positioned as the first dual-verification smart lock engineered specifically for the Saudi market, featuring dual fingerprint recognition technology and a design intended for outdoor installation under harsh climate conditions.
Alongside it, the Philips DDL610 combines a minimalist premium design with high durability standards, featuring an IP65 certification for dust and water resistance suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.
Both systems offer multiple access methods, including fingerprint recognition, PIN code entry, mobile app connectivity, and traditional mechanical key backup systems.
The decision to launch through Jarir Bookstore reflects a strategic retail positioning effort aimed at leveraging one of Saudi Arabia’s largest and most established consumer electronics and technology retail networks.
With 59 stores across the Kingdom, Jarir continues to serve as a major gateway for international technology and consumer brands entering the Saudi market.
The wider distribution strategy is being led by Kiwi Information Technology, which has been expanding Philips Home Access operations in Saudi Arabia since 2023 through partnerships with retailers including SACO, EXTRA, and e-commerce platforms such as Noon.
The company has also been strengthening ties within the Kingdom’s construction and real estate sectors. During Big 5 Construct Saudi 2026, Kiwi signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Al Ghomlas Trading Company aimed at deploying Philips Home Access solutions across residential and commercial developments.
The partnership signals a broader long-term strategy focused on integrating smart access technologies into Saudi Arabia’s growing pipeline of residential, mixed-use, and commercial projects.
For homeowners, the launch introduces a wider range of connected security solutions that align with shifting lifestyle preferences and growing demand for digitally integrated living environments.
The systems also provide users with detailed access monitoring and remote management capabilities, supporting greater convenience during travel periods, guest hosting, and day-to-day residential management.
Kiwi Information Technology stated that the Saudi launch forms part of a broader regional expansion strategy aimed at growing the Philips Home Access portfolio across the Middle East while supporting localised installation, sales, and after-sales services designed to strengthen consumer confidence and long-term adoption.
