Majid Al Futtaim has appointed Al Sahel Contracting to deliver Distrikt Ghaf Woods, a nature-integrated residential community in Dubai.DUBAI, UAE – Majid Al Futtaim has awarded the main construction contract for its Distrikt Ghaf Woods development to Al Sahel Contracting, part of the Al Nabooda Group, marking a key milestone in the delivery of one of its latest residential communities in Dubai.
Valued at over AED700 million ($191 million), the contract signals the transition from planning to active construction, with works having commenced on 13 April 2026 across the project site.
The award reflects Majid Al Futtaim Development’s continued confidence in Dubai’s long-term real estate fundamentals, as well as sustained demand for high-quality, design-led residential communities across the emirate.
Distrikt Ghaf Woods represents Majid Al Futtaim’s latest residential offering, designed around the principles of nature-integrated living, wellbeing and long-term value creation. Inspired by the resilience of the indigenous Ghaf tree, the development aims to deliver a lifestyle centred on green spaces, thoughtful design and seamless access to urban amenities.
The appointment of Al Sahel Contracting follows a competitive tender process, with selection based on technical expertise, delivery capability and alignment with the developer’s quality and execution standards.
Al Sahel Contracting brings extensive experience in delivering large-scale residential and mixed-use developments across the UAE, positioning it to support the efficient execution of the project.
The contract award comes amid continued strength in Dubai’s real estate sector, where demand for premium, lifestyle-driven communities remains robust among both local and international buyers.
Developments such as Distrikt Ghaf Woods reflect a broader shift in the market towards communities that prioritise sustainability, connectivity and quality of life, aligning with Dubai’s long-term urban development strategy.
Ahmed El Shamy, Chief Executive Officer, Majid Al Futtaim Development, said: “The award of the main construction contract for Distrikt Ghaf Woods represents an important step in advancing this community and reaffirms our commitment to delivering on our development plans. It underscores the trust our customers place in us and reflects the resilience and determination that define the UAE. We remain focused on delivering a project that meets the highest standards of quality and design, in line with the nation’s aspirations.”
From a delivery perspective, the project is expected to contribute to the growing pipeline of residential developments in Dubai, supporting population growth and evolving buyer preferences for integrated, nature-focused living environments.
Moustafa Ali Moustafa Hasan, General Manager of Al Sahel Contracting, commented: “Distrikt Ghaf Woods is a project that speaks to the scale and ambition we look for as a contractor. We bring the full depth of Al Nabooda Group’s expertise and resources to this partnership, and we are determined to deliver a community that sets a new standard for residential construction in the UAE.”
The development reinforces Majid Al Futtaim’s strategy of delivering communities that combine design quality, environmental integration and long-term investment value, while supporting Dubai’s continued position as a leading global real estate destination.
