Mace Consult Supports Delivery of Oman’s Sayyid Tarik Cultural Complex

MUSCAT, OMAN: Mace Consult is supporting the delivery of the Sayyid Tarik bin Taimur Cultural Complex in Muscat, a major cultural and community development being delivered for Oman’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth.

Mace has served as Project Management Consultant on the development since 2022, providing project leadership, programme management, commercial oversight and delivery assurance.

The consultancy said its role has included commercial governance, change management, value engineering and programme controls aimed at improving delivery efficiency and supporting project decision-making.

400,000-Square-Metre Cultural Destination

Located in Al-Seeb, the development occupies a 400,000-square-metre site and will bring together a range of cultural and institutional facilities.

The complex will include a 23,000-square-metre National Library, a 22,500-square-metre National Archives and a 16,300-square-metre National Theatre featuring 1,000-seat and 252-seat auditoriums.

The masterplan also includes a 13,165-square-metre Cultural Plaza, four facilities buildings and an 8,000-square-metre Energy & Data Centre.

The buildings will be organised around an urban plaza and integrated with landscaped gardens, water features and a signature canopy structure.

Major Construction Milestones Progress

Mace said it has supported design development, programme controls and stakeholder coordination across the design-and-build project.

Recent milestones include the substantial completion of the structural steelwork for the development’s canopy, alongside progress on external infrastructure, utility works and internal and external finishes.

The Sayyid Tarik bin Taimur Cultural Complex forms part of Oman’s wider plans to strengthen cultural infrastructure and create new spaces for learning, creativity and community engagement.

Once completed, the development is expected to bring several nationally significant cultural institutions together within a single destination in Muscat.
