Abu Dhabi, UAE - Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has become a homeowner at Manchester City Yas Residences by Ohana as the Abu Dhabi developer launches the second phase of its $4.08 billion (AED15 billion) waterfront community.

Haaland confirmed through a video appearance that he had acquired a five-bedroom villa for his family at the development, which is under construction along Yas Canal, adjacent to Yas Island. His father, former Manchester City player Alfie Haaland, has also taken a home within the community.

The announcement formed part of the Phase 2 launch at Etihad Arena, which attracted more than 4,000 guests, according to the developer. Pep Guardiola was also unveiled as the development’s official brand ambassador during the event.

Manchester City Yas Residences spans approximately 1.67 million square metres and is planned to include more than 2,000 homes. Ohana Development officially broke ground on the project in September, with phased delivery scheduled through 2029.

The second phase expands the residential mix with two- and three-bedroom townhouses, duplex villas and four- and five-bedroom villas. Homes in the phase range from about 1,938 sq ft to 4,887 sq ft, while two-bedroom townhouses are being offered at an average price of AED3.75 million ($1.02 million). Sales are scheduled to begin on 19 October 2026.

The wider masterplan is built around Manchester City-branded sport, recreation and wellness facilities. A Manchester City Park and Sports Clubhouse will sit at the centre of the landscape plan, connected to nine neighbourhood parks through shaded pedestrian routes and landscaped corridors.

Additional planned amenities include football training areas, fitness and recovery facilities, waterfront recreation spaces and community areas.

The project is Manchester City’s first branded residential development globally and forms part of Ohana Development’s growing portfolio of luxury schemes in Abu Dhabi. Ohana Development

Construction is already under way following the project’s September groundbreaking, with the new phase adding another collection of villas and townhouses to the major Yas Canal development.
