Image: SuppliedRABAT, MOROCCO – The GBB Investment Summit – Morocco concluded at the Four Seasons Hotel Rabat at Kasr Al Bahr on 9 June 2026, bringing together government representatives, institutional stakeholders, investors, developers, project owners, operators, advisors and business leaders for a day of investment-focused dialogue and strategic business connections.
The summit created a platform where public-sector vision met private-sector capital, with discussions centred on tourism, real estate, hospitality and investment opportunities shaping Morocco's next phase of growth. As the country accelerates development ahead of major milestones, including the FIFA World Cup 2030, the event highlighted the growing importance of strategic partnerships and project execution.
More than 200 delegates from 10 countries, including 30+ investors, participated in 130+ pre-scheduled meetings, generating 2,560+ minutes of structured networking. The summit also generated US$3.475 billion in investment interest, reflecting growing investor confidence in Morocco's real estate, hospitality and tourism sectors while reinforcing the country's appeal as a destination for long-term capital deployment.
Proceedings opened with remarks from Ravi Kumar Chandran, Founder and Managing Director of GBB, who welcomed delegates and highlighted the importance of creating environments where investors and decision-makers engage around genuine opportunities rather than concepts.
The opening keynote was delivered by H.E. Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Morocco's Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, who outlined the country's ambitions for tourism-led growth and strengthening its position as a globally competitive investment destination.
Reflecting on Morocco's development trajectory, she said:
"Morocco is not just open for investment. Morocco is ready for it, with the political will to move fast and build well. The 26 million target by 2030 is not an aspiration. It is a commitment. And the partnerships we build here, in this room, are how we turn our ambition into real impact."
One of the summit's key discussions explored how investor interest can be converted into active capital deployment. Moderated by Julien Braconnier, Managing Director of Voltere by Egis, the panel featured Younès Hajoui, Director of Development at SMIT; Khalil Chami, Group Chief Financial Officer at Ali & Sons Holding LLC; Thomas Pellerin, Hub Leader for Maghreb & West Africa, Industrials and Services at the International Finance Corporation (IFC); Jihane Errachidi, Chief Investment and Strategy Officer at Al Ajial Holding; and Hassan Laaziri, President of AMIC.
The discussion examined the frameworks, partnerships and confidence-building measures needed to accelerate investment across Morocco's tourism, hospitality and real estate sectors.
Loubna Boutaleb, CEO of Marchica Med SA, presented Hotel Investment Opportunities in Marchica, Nador: Shaping Morocco's Next Mediterranean Destination, providing delegates with an overview of the long-term investment vision for Nador as an emerging tourism and hospitality hub.
Networking remained central to the summit through its structured Pre-Scheduled Face-to-Face Meetings, connecting investors, developers, project owners, operators, consultants and advisors in focused business discussions designed to initiate partnerships, evaluate projects and advance investment opportunities.
Another featured session, moderated by Oussama El Kadiri, Partner and Head of Hospitality, Tourism & Leisure Advisory at Knight Frank MENA, explored investment decision-making across Morocco's real estate and hospitality sectors. The panel included Lotfi Lebbar, Principal – Investments at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and Mehdi Bennani Smires, CEO of Sirayane Hospitality, who discussed the criteria transforming promising projects into viable investments.
The summit concluded with a closing dinner at the Rabat Terrace, providing delegates with further opportunities to strengthen relationships established throughout the day and continue discussions around future partnerships.
Reflecting on the event's purpose, Ravi Kumar Chandran, Founder and Managing Director of GBB, said:
"We invest time in one of the principles that principals should meet principals, bringing global capital face to face with Morocco's hospitality and real estate opportunities in a setting designed for serious conversation rather than spectacle, is what produces outcomes that matter. Morocco's investment cycle ahead of 2030 is among the clearest in the market today, and Rabat showed the depth of interest in participating in it."
He added that the relationships established, projects discussed and capital introductions made during the summit represent the conversations that precede investment decisions and long-term development, with the opportunities set in motion only just beginning.
