Gargash Prime and JINGDONG Property representatives sign an agreement to develop a new logistics facility in Dubai Industrial City during the Dubai Business Forum - China in Shenzhen. (Image source: Dubai Chambers)Dubai, UAE - Gargash Prime and JINGDONG Property have agreed to develop a major logistics facility in Dubai Industrial City, with planned investment of more than $136 million (AED500 million).
The project will cover around 2.5 million sq ft and is intended to operate as a regional distribution and fulfilment hub serving supply-chain requirements across the UAE and the wider Middle East.
The companies signed an agreement during the Dubai Business Forum - China in Shenzhen, organised by Dubai Chambers.
Construction is expected to begin in 2027, with the first phase planned to take around 18 months to complete.
The development is expected to be delivered in two phases, with the possibility of a third phase being added later.
Gargash Prime Managing Director and Group CEO Shehab Gargash said the final project cost has not yet been fully determined, but the company expects investment to exceed AED500 million.
He said the scheme is intended to complement existing UAE logistics infrastructure rather than replace it, adding new capacity to support growing regional trade and distribution activity.
JINGDONG Property, the infrastructure investment and asset management arm of JD.com, will bring its logistics development and operating experience to the partnership.
The company manages more than 300 infrastructure assets worldwide, representing over 28 million sqm of gross floor area, with assets under management exceeding $16 billion.
JINGDONG Property CEO Carl Chen said the new facility is expected to support customers looking to expand their operations in the Middle East and connect with the wider business ecosystems of both partners.
The partnership also strengthens Gargash Prime’s strategy of expanding its real estate and logistics infrastructure portfolio through collaborations with international operators.
The project comes as Dubai continues to expand its role as a regional trade and logistics centre, with the planned facility designed to support both domestic distribution and cross-border supply chains.
